Situated just above the shores of Lake Washington, Sand Point Country Club offers many gorgeous views of the lake and the Cascade Mountain range. Sand Point's is a classic course reminiscent of the many golf courses built in the early 20th century.

Though not very long at just over 6,000 yards, the par-71 Sand Point course is a beguiling mix of side-hill lies, small and fast greens, and dozens of deep Scottish-style bunkers. The course boasts a 130 slope rating from the tips for men. The ladies have it even tougher, as from their white tees, the course rating of 71.8 and a 127 slope place Sand Point among the top-10 toughest courses for women in the state of Washington.

The landing areas for drives along Sand Point’s tree-lined fairways require precision off the tee. Players with fine short games tend to excel at Sand Point, as its sloping greens and tight pin positions are tough to negotiate.

The course is kept in immaculate shape by superintendent Craig Sampson, CGCS. Thanks to a comprehensive topdressing program, the layout boasts generally dry playing conditions year-round.

But above all, the course’s hillside locale is its predominant feature. While finding a flat lie at Sand Point is a rarity, what’s common at the course are golfers enjoying unobstructed vistas of Lake Washington and the Cascade Mountains – which on clear days stretch from Mount Baker near the Canadian border 150 miles south to Mount Rainier. There is no other golf course in the entire Pacific Northwest with such spectacular panoramas.
